Given the current state of emergency declared by the Spanish government, we regret to inform that the VI Congress “La ciudad que queremos / The city we want” scheduled to take place in June 2020 at Pamplona’s Baluarte Convention Center, is postponed until further notice. During the following months we will continue working in its organization, awaiting to determine a new date for its celebration, predictably in the autumn of 2020 and as long as the global situation allows it.
The congress will bring together architects, historians and experts from fields as diverse as economy, sociology, architecture or public management, from all five continents, who will discuss about the role of cities in specific aspects such as sustainability and climate change, urban equality, mobility or health. More than ever, it is necessary to think about the future of our cities and lifestyles.
In the words of José María Ezquiaga, sixth edition’s director:
“Beyond the particular objective of promoting the links between architecture and the social sphere, sustainable development and the rational use of material and energy resources, the aim of the event is to analyse the role of cities as engines of economic development, redistribution and inclusion. Cities must be able to tackle the great environmental and social challenges. The decisive battle on the subject of sustainability and climate change will be held in cities.”
As of today, our thoughts are with all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, to whom we want to express our solidarity and support.
