The Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad is a non-profit, private cultural entity with a national and international reach. Based in Madrid and Pamplona, it was set up in 2008 with the aim of promoting architecture as a field inextricably bound to life in society at large.
An annual activity of the organization is Campus Ultzama, held in the Navarrese municipality of Ultzama. In a nature-rich environment, architects and architecture students from different countries gather with professionals tied to the construction sector to discuss the city
The Campus is organized around two main events: the School and the Encounters.
Humanizing the city
Workshop 1. Francisco Mangado
Workshop 2. Eduardo Souto de Moura
Both the Encounters and the School take place in the facilities of the Robledales de la Ultzama Equestrian Center, right by the river of the same name and in a place considered highly representative of the humid Navarre region.
Designed by the architect Francisco Mangado, the center is located in the heart of the Ultzama Valley, 18 kilometers from Pamplona, and is characterized by the way it reflects the bold, clear-cut volumes of the farmhouses or caseríos of the small town of Zenotz.
